Abstract
122,545. Philipson, W., and Philipson, P. C. March 18, 1918. Carding-engines.-The fillets or sections of card clothing on a stripping or cleaning brush for card surfaces are so mounted that the points of the wires form a cam surface relatively to the core of the brush and enter progressively into the card clothing being stripped. The fillet c, Fig. 1, is mounted on a wooden lag c<1> fitted into a groove g in the core a. The base of the groove is cut at an angle to tilt the lag, or the groove is cut evenly and the lag is made higher at one end than the other. The lag c<1> may be tilted in the groove by packing-pieces h, Fig. 3, or by a screw m. The fillet may be mounted directly upon an eccentrically shaped part of the core, or packing may be inserted between the fillet and the lag or foundation upon which it is fixed. The wires forming the fillet may be of gradually increasing length towards the rear of the fillet or may be of even length mounted on a core of circular cross section set eccentrically on the shaft.
