Hatch covers 2 and 3 are supported on aligned wheels 4 on two parallel sides of the coaming 1 and they roll on these wheels on to aligned wheels 6 on supports 5 mounted on the deck outside the coaming. The spacing between the wheels is such that the centre of gravity of a hatch cover is always located between two wheels in each aligned row.
