Abstract

1,223,092. Directing vehicle lamps. SOC. ANON. AUTOMOBILES CITROEN. 14 Feb., 1969 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 8055/69. Heading F4R. A vehicle headlamp system comprises a plurality of headlamps each mounted to pivot about a respective axis lying in a substantially vertical plane extending longitudinally of the vehicle in response to movements of the vehicle steering system and each mounted to pivot about a substantially horizontal axis extending transversely of the vehicle in response to both pitching and rolling movements of the vehicle body. Means may also be provided for tilting the lamps about the horizontal axis in accordance with the speed of the vehicle when it is negotiating a turn. The preferred embodiment is a combination of the systems disclosed in Specifications 1,222,481 and 1,222,482.
