Abstract

1,221,097. Trucks with elevating platforms; hydraulic jacks. BULGARO-UNGARSKO DRUJESTVO " INTRANSMASH." 16 July, 1968, No. 33882/68. Headings B8H and B8J. An hydraulic lifting unit for a hand-operated lift truck is mounted over the steering wheels thereof and comprises an hydraulic fluid reservoir 25 extending into which are a lifting cylinder 24 and a pumping cylinder 23 operable by the truck steering arm and coupled by a duct 27 to the lifting cylinder. Ball valves 14, 17, 18 coaxial with the lifting cylinder 24 permit supply of fluid thereto when a foot-operated cam disc 9 is in a dwell position (shown), and fluid is released from the cylinder 24 to lower a load when the balls of valves 17, 18 are raised by lifters 10, 11 operated by a profile 21 on the cam disc 9. The escape of fluid from the cylinder 24 is throttled by the closed ball valve 14, the seat of which is provided with bleed apertures. Once the lifting cylinder is fully raised, cam profile 20 on the disc 9 is engaged with the lifter 10 and the ball of valve 17 is raised to bleed fluid to the reservoir as the steering arm is moved to the steering position. A non- return ball valve 28 is provided at the base of the cylinder 23 within the reservoir 25.
