Fulling and milling.-The drafts of fabric, on leaving the squeezing-rollers a, b pass through the trough c and engage a rearwardly-disposed spring-controlled roller or block e having its shaft or bearings slidable in slots f, which have inclined portions f' to cause the roller to rise and allow the fabric to pass beneath it and have depressions f<2> to receive the ends of the roller shaft when it is required to render the roller inoperative. The roller or block may be reciprocated positively by cams. Additional rollers or blocks e may be employed, each being arranged to the rear of an additional trough; these are disposed in step fashion and are provided with cam-operated spring-controlled sliding blocks k. Sets of cams l are provided for giving different travels to the blocks k, and means are provided for putting the required cams into action.
