Heading C2C. 1-Dehydrotestololactone is prepared by subjecting 16-dehydropregnenolone or 16-dehydropregnenolone acetate to the action of enzymes of a microorganism selected from Cylindrocarpon radicicola, Cylindrocarpon album, Cylindrocarpon ianthothele, Fusarium javanicum var. ensiforme, Fusarium moniliforme, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium roseum and Fusarium solani, under oxidizing conditions.
