Abstract

1,219,985. Electronic colour correction. DR.-ING RUDOLF HELL. 15 March, 1968 [22 March, 1967], No. 12837/68. Heading H4F. Relates to a method of electronic colour correction in which a secondary correction signal which disappears for grey tones is formed by subtracting an uncorrected primary colour separation signal (proportional to the original to be reproduced) from another colour correction information signal of the same grey contrast which is a primary colour separation signal or a linear mixture of two primary colour separation signals, and in which the uncorrected primary colour separation signal to which the secondary correction signal is added is first transformed according to a non- linear function which is an intermediate function between a linear and a logarithmic function, the form of which in the region between 100% and 1% of the primary colour separation signal value for the original colour white is represented by a power function y = x<SP>a</SP> with 0À3#a#0À6. The function according to which the colour separation signal is transformed is a Munsell function, i.e. a function of like physiological differences of perception. Each transferred primary colour separation signal may have a corresponding (i.e. associated) secondary signal added thereto.
