Filling-material, machines for; welts, machines for.-A machine for applying and levelling filling- material and for levelling the welts comprises an adjustable slidable jack a for holding the lasted shoe and a spring-pressed support k provided with an interchangeable rest l adapted to fit in the crease at the top of the shoe. The crease along the sides of the shoe is adapted to be engaged by one or more conical welt-pressing rolls n carried by spring-pressed slides o, while above the shoe is arranged a levelling-roller s carried by a spring-pressed frame r, which is adapted to be loweved by a bell.crank lever v operated by a screw t and hand-wheel u, or by connexions to a treadle. The filling-material is supplied from a reservoir x, and the roller s is lowered to grip the welt between it and the rolls n; as the jacked shoe is moved beneath the roller the rolls n yield to accommodate themselves to the width of the shoe. In a modified construction, the jack slide and the support k are connected for combined movement through connexions with a rotating crank.
