Abstract

1,218,470. Alkali metal dicyanamides. NILOK CHEMICALS Inc. 3 Dec., 1968, No. 57396/68. Heading C1A. An alkali metal dicyanamide is prepared by reacting, in the presence of water, ammonia, a cyanogen halide and an alkali metal hydroxide in approximately equal molecular proportions and at a temperature below 35‹ C. Completion of the reaction is indicated by a drop in pH. The product is precipitated by cooling and separated by filtration.
