Abstract

1,217,463. Razor blade dispensers. PHILLIP MORRIS Inc. 26 Feb., 1969 [7 March, 1968], No. 10345/69. Heading B8P. A razor-blade dispenser which dispenses alternately from either end has a pair of retaining lugs 20, 22 on which the blades are threaded in alternate relationship, the lugs having square retaining shoulders 20a, 22a and being mounted on depressible spring arms to release the blades. The body 10 of the dispenser is closed at its top by a cover-plate 11 having a finger aperture 47 and there is a bottom plate 12 for housing used blades. Sides 14, 15 of the dispenser are linked by a bridge 13, having two pairs of upwardly directed lugs 20, 21 and 22, 23, each being mounted on a flexible support for easy depression, lugs 20, 22 being on arms pivoted about 28, and lugs 21, 23 on reversely directed arms pivoting about 33 on the main arms. One set of blades is threaded over lugs 21, 20 and 22 and are dispensed at the left end, while the alternate set is threaded over 20, 22, 23 and are dispensed at the right. The cover-plate is applied after the blades have been packed and is bowed down to press on to the blades and it is located at its side edges in lateral grooves 43 in the sides 14, 15 of the dispenser, Fig. 5. There are markings M on each blade to indicate the direction of dispensation, Fig. 6.
