Abstract

1,217,319. Hacksaws. A. BLAKE. 11 Nov., 1968 [15 Nov., 1967], No. 51914/67. Heading B5L. The blade 14 of a hacksaw is held in position at at least one end of a U-shaped hacksaw frame 8 by a blade holding member 1 which comprises a rod bent at one end to provide an approximate L-shape, the longer leg 2 of the L being screw-threaded and passing through a collar 9 of the frame 8, and the shorter leg 3 of the rod having a slot in its end to receive a hacksaw blade, and being screw-threaded for a nut 5 to grip the blade in place. The members 1 may be present at both ends of the frame or one of them may be replaced by a fixed blade holding member. The members 1 are held relative to the collars 9 by nuts 10, 11 and one of them may carry a handle 15. A washer 6 may be placed between the nut 5 and blade 14.
