[Also in Division G1] A screw and nut mechanism comprises a lead screw 41 rotatable by a handle 7<SP>1</SP> to move a nut 43 along a tube 5. The nut is provided with balls 51 which are held against the lead screw troughs by set screws 53 in bores 52. The nut is connected to a member 6 by a dowel 45 and a bolt 46 and a clamp 8<SP>1</SP> is provided to lock the member 6 to the tube 5.
