Abstract
1,215,233. Cable joints. FUJIKURA CABLE WORKS Ltd. 19 March, 1968 [24 March, 1967], No. 13323/68. Heading H2E. A condenser-type joint comprises an assembly of spaced apart cylindrical condenser foil electrodes 40 arranged in a concentric stepwise formation in the insulating layers 5 of each half of the joint, each electrode 40 being formed from a plurality of single foils. Each electrode may consist of a pair of foils electrically connected at one end (Fig. 4, not shown). The cable consists of a conductor 12 surrounded by an insulating layer 4, for example of impregnated paper, and a further reinforcing insulated layer 5, for example of impregnated paper, and a bellshaped earthed electrode 6 surrounding layer 5. Figs. 2 and 5 (not shown) show the invention as applied an oil-stop joint and a paper to paper joint.
