1,213,232. Apparatus for preparing resincoated sand. NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY PROEKTNO-KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT TEKHNOLOGII MASHINOSTROENIA. 9 April, 1968, No. 17042/68. Heading B1C. '[Also in Division C3] Apparatus for continuously preparing resincoated sand for making foundry moulds and cores comprises a trough 1 provided with two rotatable shafts 2 having mixing and conveying blades 3 arranged thereon, screw conveyors 6, 9 for feeding pre-heated sand and a liquid resin from bins 5, 8 respectively into a charging zone in the trough, nozzles 13 for spraying a resin hardening agent from tank 14 into the mixture of sand and liquid resin, and a grid 12 through which air is blown to cool the resincoated sand 'before it is discharged. The pitch of some of the blades in the charging zone may differ by approximately 90‹ from the pitch of the other blades and the shafts may be rotated in contrary directions. Gases may be exhausted via funnel 15, 16. (For Figure see next column)
