Abstract

1,213,088. Active filters. FUNKWERK ERFURT VEB. 21 March, 1969, No. 14897/69. Heading H3U. In an N-path commutated filter the use of a pulse - duration modulated switching signal allows the frequency interval of undesired passbands to be made so large that they may be suppressed with a simple RC low-pass filter. The switching signals are provided by feeding a sawtooth and quadrature components of a carrier to two Schmitt triggers Fig. 2 (not shown). Each path Fig. 3 may comprise a pair of capacitors, four resistors, and four diodes. With one polarity of switching signal, the left hand diodes conduct to charge the capacitors from the input, and with the other polarity, the right hand diodes conduct to discharge them to the output.
