Abstract
1,212,217. Board game simulating commerce. S. PRITCHARD. 18 Dec., 1968 [21 Dec., 1967], No. 58135/67. Heading A6H. In playing a board game simulating commerce players move their playing pieces around a board circuit according to the fall of a die. Spaces in the circuit bear instructions relating to commerce, or refer to cards lying on the board, which relate to such aspects of commerce as "Bad Debts" or "Cash Discount". Players follow the instructions found in the board circuit, or on the cards, and carry out the financial transactions of their own imaginary businesses using game stock and token money. A bank, preferably managed by a non- playing person, represents the interests with which players have transactions. Players record their transactions in ledgers to learn accountancy and to find which player has made the most profit and thereby won the game. The complexity of the instructions may be altered to vary the complexity of the games.
