Abstract
1,211,225. Float glass. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 17 March, 1967 [26 May, 1966], No. 12517/67. Heading C1M. The non-oxidizing protective atmosphere in plenum 19 is, in part withdrawn, cleansed and recirculated to remove contaminants responsible for speck and drip marks on the glass sheet. The atmosphere may be scrubbed, purified chemically, filtered, de-watered and heat-exchanged. The bath has a carbon liner. Radiant heaters 26 and coolers 27 are provided. The atmosphere which is removed at 33 and returned at 36, is non-oxidizing but not reducing.
