Abstract
1,210,813. Toothbrush container, toothbrush holder. DAILY USE Ltd. 30 May, 1968 [5 July, 1967], No. 30927/67. Headings A4K and A4V. [Also in Division B8] A toothbrush container for a singletufted toothbrush has a sleeve 8 enclosing the tuft of bristles 5 and a compartment containing solid menthol or a like substance 7 as an antiseptic which sublimes through a bore 6<SP>1</SP> on to the bristles. The menthol may be in the form of crystals or may be impregnated in an absorbent material, e.g. cotton wool, or may be coated on the surface of the compartment. A resilient polythene reservoir 1 may be provided, from which tap water or diluted mouth wash is squeezed or sucked into the bristles 5 via a narrow bore 9 in a tube 4<SP>1</SP>. A collar 411 may be provided on the cap 4 to locate the sleeve 18 thereon. The sleeve may have a lateral bore 18<SP>11</SP> (Fig. 2, not shown). In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the sleeve (28) is closed by a plug (30) on which a stem (29) carrying the single tuft of bristles (25) is fixed. A thin, e.g. celluloid, toothpick (31) is pivotally attached to the stem (29) near its base. The-interior of the sleeve (28) is filled with tap water or diluted mouth wash. The compartment 7 is so shaped that liquid therein cannot escape through the aperture 6<SP>1</SP> whatever its spatial orientation (Fig. 4, not shown). Instead of menthol, any other pleasantly smelling and disinfecting substance may be used.
