Abstract
1,210,402. Bakery apparatus. LANHAM MACHINERY CO. Inc. 10 Nov., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966; 3 April, 1967], No. 51363/67. Heading A2A. [Also in Divisions A4 and B8] A bakery oven comprises an oven chamber and an endless conveyer for carrying the goods into, through and out of the chamber, the conveyer having a portion which follows a spiral path in the chamber. As shown, the apparatus comprises a proofer chamber 4 having air conditioner 14, an over chamber 2 and an endless conveyer 9 having a spiral portion in each of the proofer and over chambers for conveying the goods at constant speed. The apparatus also comprises means 6 for filling pans and placing the pans on endless conveyer 5 leading to conveyer 9, a depanner unit 11, a conveyer 13 for receiving the depanned goods and an endless conveyer 10 for returning empty pans from conveyer 9 to filling means 6. Means 21<SP>1</SP> are provided for changing the point of entry of the pans into the oven chamber if it is desired that the pans bypass a portion of the conveying path in the oven chamber. Similar means (not shown) may be provided in association with the proofer chamber. The conveyer 9 may comprise racks 22 (Fig. 3) (or racks (220), Fig. 11, not shown) connected to brackets 38 and supported on slide runners 31, the brackets 28 being connected via bracket 30 to links 36 of conveyer chain 38. The conveyer chain comprises pairs of interconnected links, there being a horizontal roller 48 between links 52 and a vertical roller 42 between links 36, 60. The conveyer chain 38 runs in tube 34 and carries a brush 136 for cleaning the inside of tube 34. The U-shaped end sections of the conveyer 9 may be adjustable with respect to the horizontal sections of the conveyer. The conveyer is driven (Fig. 7, not shown) by lugs (112) on endless chain (94) engaging links (52), the tension of chain (94) being adjustable by means of adjusting the position of cog (95). The oven chamber 2 is constructed of insulated panels each panel comprising spaced sheets of fire and heat resistant material and having insulating material between the sheets. The oven chamber is heated by thermostatically controlled gas burners 15.
