Abstract

1,210,002. Weft stop motion for shuttleless loom. FATEX S.A. 17 June, 1968 [30 June, 1967], No. 28705/68. Heading D1E. The weft stop motion comprises a pivoted lever 3 having a tensioner 6 at one end and a magnet 15 at the other co-operating with magnetic switches 16-7. Initially when the weft is drawn from the supply the lever is pushed to co-operate with switch 16 by cam 10, or alternatively by an electromagnet. Latterly the lever is free to pivot under the influence of the running yarn. When a weft is selected magnetic switches 39, 40 are closed and opened respectively by magnet 37 on the presenter 36. If the weft is running freely the lever is pivoted to close switch 17 at the same time as switch 20 is closed by rotating magnet 19 to connect a power source 28. Open switches 16, 40 allow the loom to continue operating. If the weft is unselected lever 3 remains vertical (Fig. 10 not shown) and closes switch 16; the loom continues to operate as switches 17, 39 are open. If a weft breaks while being drawn lever 3 remains vertical (Fig. 12 not shown) and a circuit is completed via closed switches 16, 39 to stop the loom. If. an unselected weft is inadvertently drawn switch 17 is closed by the pivoting lever to stop the loom.
