PVC) are plasticized or extended with a material derived from a multi-stage selective solvent re-extraction of an extract obtained, during the selective solvent extraction of a mineral oil, the re-extraction being carried out under a temperature gradient of 10-70‹ F., a solvent to feed ratio by volume of not more than 4: 1 and a column base temperature of not more than 160‹ F. and the final extract containing at least 90% by wt. of aromatics. Amounts of 11-100 parts per hundred parts by wt. of resin are used.
