Abstract
120,931. Hopper, J. G. July 25, 1917, [Convention date]. Strainer separators.-A machine for crushing and, if necessary, drying minerals and other materials comprises two rotary concave disks 1, 2 surrounded by a rapidly vibrating screen 9. The material passes from a hopper 5 through the hollow axle 6 of the disk 1 and, when crushed, is thrown against the screen, the separated water passing through the screen and the crushed material falling into a circular channel 10. The disks are formed with grooves or flutes and are driven in opposite directions or in the same direction but at different speeds by pulleys 3, 4. The upper disk can be adjusted by screws 8 or other means.
