Abstract
1,209,038. Travelling loom cleaners. PARKSCRAMER CO. 17 Oct., 1967 [17 Oct., 1966], No. 47279/67. Heading F4X. A travelling cleaner 10, Fig. 1, for removing fibre paste &c. from textile looms 11 arranged in parallel rows 12-15 comprises a series of cleaning units C each having a plurality of air outlets 22 oscillatably suspended via a parallelogram linkage including link members 27, 28 from an overhead carriage 16 which travels across the rows of looms between a pair of support rails 17, 18. The air outlets 22 are oscillated in planes normal to the direction of travel of the cleaner by a motor driven unit (see Fig. 3) attached to one of the link members 28. The suspension arrangement is such that each outlet 22 is maintained at a respective constant angle relative to the horizontal plane of the warp yarns and to the vertical plane of the dropwires during its travel and oscillatory movement. Air is supplied through a hollow manifold 23 to the outlets 22 via a flexible sleeve 24 which is connected to a common air supply conduit (21, Fig. 2) carried by the carriage 16. As shown in Fig. 4 the cleaning units C-1, C-2 may be utilized in a track-mounted loom cleaner of the type disclosed in Specification 1,018,718 wherein a rotary impeller 120 situated in a blower housing 116 which travels along a trackway 101 directs air to the sets of outlets 122, 122<SP>1</SP> through conduits 121, 121<SP>1</SP>. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,018,718.
