Abstract

1,208,995. Vibrating bowl. W. C. BURGESS JR. 14 March, 1969 [5 March, 1969], No. 13702/69. Heading B8A. Bolts 24 are dropped into the bottom of vibrating bowl 10 operated by free piston device 18 and are caused to move up the inner spiral 26 to the point 54 at which the track narrows to permit excess bolts to drop back into the bowl. The bolts fall with their shanks passing through slots 52 and held by their head 48, and are thus progressed along the track towards the outlet 30, any bolts not so positioned falling away down slope 46. At the outlet 30 the bolts slide down rail 88 whilst being held by plate 92. Bolts 67 permit the vertical movement of wall 62 to vary the size of slot 52 and bolts 102 permit the radical movement of plate 92 to vary the size of the exit slot.
