Numbers from a multistage store register of an electronic calculating machine may be transferred into an add-lister machine by way of solenoids responsive to pulse trains representing the stored numbers, the solenoids being arranged to operate the digit keys of said addlister machine. As shown (Fig. 1), the number to be transferred is initially stored in a register 1 comprising a plurality of decimal counter stages. Pulses from a source 2 are applied to each stage in turn and carry pulses, generated as each stage is counted through zero, are transmitted on line 1b to AND-gates 3a of a selector circuit 3 to which trains of pulses in groups of 10 are applied. The arrangement is such that for each digit in turn, a corresponding solenoid is selected from a bank of solenoids 4 to operate the corresponding key of the machine 5. The solenoids operate the respective keys by way of pivoted levers mounted on a frame fixed over the normal keyboard and so arranged that manual depression of a key does not move the lever (Fig. 2, not shown). The said frame includes a set of keys engaging with the normal set. Switches associated with the keys enable data keyed into the machine 5 to be entered into the register 1. A decimal point circuit 22 is coupled to a decimal point position selector (Fig. 3, not-shown) on the machine 5 which selector is associated with means for marking the decimal point position on the print-out.
