Abstract

1,208,428. Handling photographic film during processing. MARK SYSTEMS Inc. Oct.27, 1967, No.48981/67. Heading G2A. A mechanism for handling photographic film in the "BIMAT" process comprises three parallel spindles B, C and D in spaced relation to each other; a drive means driving spindle B in direction 28 consisting of a motor 25 or crack handle 26 and gears 61 and 62; a second drive means consisting of pulleys 31 and 35, pulley 31 being larger than pulley 35, and belt 30 for driving spindle D in the same direction as spindle B; slippage clutch 40 connecting shaft 36 to shaft 41 of spindle D and break means 46 connected to spindle C providing a greater resistance to rotation of spindle C in one direction than in the opposite direction. A pressure roller 56 which is slidably movable towards spool 55 presses strips 21 and 20 together as they are wound on to spool 55.
