Abstract
1,205,889. Headsets. AKUSTISCHE U. KINO GERATE G.m.b.H. 31 May, 1968 [5 June, 1967], No. 26127/68. Heading H4J. A headphone has a spring heandband 1 which can be applied alternatively over the head (Fig. 1) or under the chin (Fig. 2) and carries an earpiece 4 on the outside of which is a cable connector 2 for a feed cable 7. The headband 1 is pivotally connected to the cable connector 2 by a pivot pin 3 mounted on the cable connector 2. The headband 1 is rotatable about the pivot pin 3 relative to the earpiece 4 between the two positions shown. As shown the pivot pin 3 is on the outside of the cable connector 2 but it may be within the cable connector 2 (Figs 3, 4, not shown). The end of the headband 1 then extends into the cable connector 2 through a slot of sufficient extent to permit movement of the headband 1 between the two positions. Detents may be provided for retaining the headband 1 in position, such detents being identified by numerals, symbols or marks. The headphone preferably also has a flexible arm 5 carrying a microphone 6. Stops may limit movement of the headband or microphone 6.
