[Also in Division E2] A panel 10, carrying switches or dial gauges, is attached by means of resilient clips 16 to a plate 12 which is in turn secured inside a motor vehicle, e.g. by screws 14 to the underside of a parcel shelf 22, the clips 16 being such that the panel becomes detached from plate 12 when it is struck by an occupant of the vehicle when the latter has been involved in a collision. The clips 16 are. engageable with studs 18, depending from plate 12. The diameter of each stud increases towards its free end and the clips are correspondingly shaped, Fig. 4 (not shown). When assembled the edge of plate 12 abuts the inner surface of panel 10 and the upper surfaces of clips 16 and lugs 20 abut the underside of plate 12. Both plate 12 and panel 10 may be of synthetic plastics material and the clips and studs may be moulded integrally with their respective members.
