Abstract

1,204,793. Yarn winding apparatus. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDE UNIE N.V. 21 March, 1968 [21 March, 1967], No. 13740/68. Heading D1J. The yarn package 2 is driven by a drum 1 and the yarn 16 is traversed by a hollow cylinder 5 provided with a multi-cycle zig-zag slot such that the yarn has a passage through the cylinder in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. The system includes two guide members 6, 7 for the yarn, these members being spaced apart circumferentially of the cylinder by one traverse cycle of the slot and extending parallel to the cylinder 5. As the package 2 increases in diameter and rocks about the axis 4, means (Fig. 2 not shown) responsive to such pivoting motion causes the two guide members 6, 7 to move anti-clockwise about the axis of the cylinder 5.
