Bristles, fixing; brush-making tools. - In brushes having the bristles fixed as described in Specification 6181/05, the backing f is formed of a substantial sheet of quick-curing unvulcanized rubber, and the rubber pad a and sheet f are subsequently vulcanized. During vulcanization, the bristle tufts are accommodated in cavities h in a block g and the sheet f, attached by rubber solution e to the pad a, is applied to a hot plate i. The block g and hot plate are adapted to press the parts together while heat at a moderate temperature is supplied by the hot plate.
