Abstract

1,203,412. Automatic steering control. BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP. Ltd. June 1, 1967 [March 1, 1966], No.9031/66. Heading G3R. In a missile control system, in which the missile is guided towards a target by a ground tracking device, the control signals transmitted to the missile are adjusted, at the tracking device, for the missile roll charges. The ground tracker provides missile control signals corresponding to the angular separation between the target and missile in azimuth and elevation The control signals are passed through a missile roll resolver located at the ground tracker before transmission to the missile. The roll resolver is continuously adjusted by signals from models of the missile pitch and your guidance loops, sited at the ground tracker. The angle of resolution of the resolver is approximately equal to the missile roll angle at all times, the model loops being supplied from the tracker with target tracking signals.
