Abstract
1,202,807. Cable railways. SOC. DES FORGES ET ATELIERS DU CREUSOT. 25 Oct., 1968 [24 Nov., 1967], No. 50735/68. Heading B7L. A cable railway installation comprises a trackway 2 on which run trucks towed by the upper run of an endless cable 3, the cable at one end passing round a reversing pulley and at the other end around a driven pulley 7 rotatable on an inclined axle, the pulley 7 being driven by a motor 13 via a brake 12 and the drive arrangement being mounted on a frame 10 pivoted at 14 and loaded with ballast weights 23-25 to initially tension the cable. An hydraulic shock-absorber 27 damps any pivoting movement of the frame. In a modification, Fig. 5, the cable at each end of the run passes around a reversing pulley and in the middle of the lower run around pulleys 108 to a driving pulley 105, the pulley 105 being driven by a pair of motors 116 through reducers 114 and brakes 115, the drive arrangement being mounted on a frame 111 pivoted on a shaft 112 and loaded with ballast 117. An hydraulic shock-absorber 122 damps movement of the frame.
