Abstract

1,202,114. Pelletting fodder. KOMBINAT FORTSCHRITT LANDMASCHINEN. 4 Sept., 1968, No. 42115/68. Heading A2B. In apparatus for producing fodder pellets from stalked crops, for example grass or lucerne, of the type wherein the crops are few to a space defined by rollers whereby a twisted rope, which is then cut, is obtained, comprises a central feed system (2) which may consist of a wormwheel (1) or a centrifugal plate (4, Fig. 3, not shown), a number of winding units arranged circularly about the feed, each unit comprising two pairs of winding rollers (6), the rollers of each pair being disposed radially one above the other and acting on both sides in adjacent chambers, and a rotating cutting-off mechanism (20) for cutting the twisted product, the whole being driven via a series of toothed gears. Guide tubes (7), rotating in the same direction as the twisted product, and fitted with retarding devices 8 may be provided.
