Abstract

A machinery guard comprises a chain of links 1, 2 of channel section which are pivotally connected together, each link carrying one or more guard rods 4. The opposite flanges of each link are pivotally connected to the flanges of adjacent links by screw-and-nut connections 7, 8 which can be tightened to lock the links against relative pivotal movement. Each rod 4 is located in position by a sleeve 9 carried by the rod and located between the associated link flanges, and by a circlip 10 frictionally engaging the rod and located between the sleeve and one flange of the link. The rod 4 may be adjusted longitudinally against the resistance of the circlip 10, and may be locked in position by a set-screw 11.
