Abstract

1,200,949. Hydraulic system having actuators movable in unison. K. SUGIMURA AND N. SUGIMURA. Dec.29, 1967 [April 28, 1967], No.59160/67. Heading F1P. Hydraulic actuators A1-A5 are supplied with pressure oil from a common source P branched to the actuators through lines L1-L5, each line having a respective device S1-S5 controlling flow in its line in responce to the pressure differential in its line and that of another line, whereby the actuators move in unison. One of the devices is shown in Figs.2 and 3. Each device comprises a cylindrical housing 1 having inlet and outlet ports 14, 15 connected to the line and separated by a partition 17 in a cylindrical insert 16, the insert being provided with openings 20 closable by arcuate valve plates 23 normally spaced from the openings 20 thereby to interconnect opposite sides of the partition 17 through an annular chamber a. The outer side of the chamber a is defined by a soft rubber tube 9 movable radially inwards by excessive oil pressure in one of the other lines connected by a port 2 to a surrounding annular chamber b, thereby to cause the plates 23 to close the openings 20. Excessive pressure occurs in the other line when the actuator connected thereto becomes heavily loaded, the result being termination in the flow to the lightly loaded actuator. The arcuate valve plates 23 have stems 22 passing through guide holes 21, in the insert 16.
