Abstract

1,200,717. Watch cases. YAMAMOTO WATCH PARTS MFG. CO. Ltd. Dec. 6, 1968, No.58135/68. Heading G3T. [Also in Division E2] A timepiece case comprises a back closure 2 having a pair of grooves 19, 20, an outer case 1 having a pair of slots 35, 36 and a connecting device consisting of two resilient rods 25, 30 one end 27, 32 of each of which is attached to the back closure, each rod being disposed in its respective groove such that a portion 26, 31 extends into the adjacent slot. The ends 27, 32 of the rods are wound around pins 28, 33 mounted in broadened portions 22, 23 of the grooves. Strap fixing horns 5, 6 are provided on the outer case into the slots of which the rods snap when the back closure is assembled in the outer case. A further groove 40 is provided below each of the grooves 19, 20 for insertion of a tool to prise the case open. Instead of extending completely through the outer case 1, the slots 35, 36 may be blind. The watch crystal is made of transparent resin and its flange 9 presses against a packing ring 11.
