Abstract
1,200,187. Retractive switches. A. B. ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS Ltd. 24 Jan., 1968 [22 Feb., 1967], No. 8529/67. Heading H1N. [Also in Division H4] In a matrix assembly of push-button switches 5, Fig. 1, each push-button 5 has four camming edges 14, Fig. 3, engaging both a row and a column of balls 9a guided in ways 6 of a base 2 and operating up to four contacts 10a-10d simultaneously. The arrangement is such that only one push-button 5 can be operated at a time since the balls 9a moved by one button are misaligned with the camming edges 14 of other buttons in the same row and column and misaligned with the guiding grooves 6 in the other rows and columns. The buttons 5 may be used for telephone " dialling", one contact set 10a camming a " dialling " signal to be heard in the hand set. Contact sets 10b, 10d may each energize a characteristic frequency in the " dialling " circuit so that each button corresponds to a unique combination of frequencies. The buttons not marked may be used for emergency or internal calls. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,051,897.
