Abstract

1,199,875. Gas/liquid contact apparatus. JULIUS MONTZ G.m.b.H. 14 June, 1968 [21 June, 1967], No. 28558/68. Heading B1R. A gas/liquid contact column I contains a spiral foil 2 wound about an axially disposed core 5, spacing elements 4 being arranged between the turns of the spiral. The spacing elements may be in the form of lugs projecting from the material of the spiral foil or they may be projections arranged at spaced intervals along a strip which is wound with the spiral foil, one face of the strip being in contact with one face of the spiral foil. The foil may be made of fine mesh fabric of metal wire or filaments of synthetic plastics material. The surfaces of the spiral foil may be irregated.
