Abstract
1,198,572. Refrigerating. ROBERT BOSCH HAUSGERAETE G.m.b.H. 30 May, 1968 [1 June, 1967], No. 25862/68. Heading F4H. A refrigerating machine having an injector compressor operated by vaporized refrigerant includes a change-over device for selectively supplying refrigerant to a heat exchanger as a cooling or a heating medium. As shown, liquid refrigerant is vaporized in a coil 3 of a vapour generator 1 and supplied to the injector 5 which discharges to a port 22 of a slide valve 20. In the valve position shown, the compressed refrigerant passes through a port 23 to a condenser 6 from which liquid refrigerant passes via a check valve 8 to a receiver 9, and thence to heat-exchangers 13, 13<SP>1</SP> via expansion valves 11, 11<SP>1</SP>. Refrigerant vapour from the heatexchangers returns to the suction inlet of the injector via lines 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, ports 25, 26, 24 and line 15 while part of the liquid from the receiver 9 is pumped to coil 3 through line 17. Air to be conditioned flows serially through the heatexchangers. As the slide 21 of valve 20 is moved to the right it successively occupies positions in which:- (i) port 26 is blocked and heat-exchanger 13<SP>1</SP> rendered inoperative; (ii) port 26 is communicated with port 22 so that exchanger 131 receives hot refrigerant from the injector and reheats air which has been cooled and dehumidified by exchanger 13; (iii) ports 24 and 25 are blocked so that exchanger 13 is inoperative and air is heated by exchanger 13<SP>1</SP>, and (iv) port 23 is closed and port 22 communicates with both ports 25 and 26 to supply hot refrigerant to both exchangers. Refrigerant condensed in the exchangers while they are used for heating passes to the receiver 9 through lines 18, 181 which include checkvalves 19, 191. In a different embodiment (Fiig. 1, not shown) having a single heat exchanger, a change-over valve is provided at the outlet of the coil 3 for supplying vapour either to the inlet of the injector or directly to the heat-exchanger. The machine may be used in a motor vehicle in which case the vapour generator 1 is heated by the engine exhaust.
