Abstract

1,196,912. Weighing apparatus; liquid level indicators. M. BROWNLIE. Aug.23, 1967 [Aug.26, 1966], No.38297/66. Headings G1H and G1W. Apparatus for indicating the weight of the liquid contents of a vessel comprises a weighing platform 19 pivotally supported at one end to a base 5 and connected at its other end 8a to a vertically disposed coiled compression spring 10 which is operatively connected to a load indicating device 28, the sides 20 of the platform 19 being arranged to converge towards the end 8a of the platform. The platform may comprise a sheet of metal Fig.1 (not shown), or a plurality of cross members 21 which may be bars or rollers and may be locked in an inoperative position by a manually movable lever 33 having an end 31 capacble of abutting the underside of the platform. The load indicating device may comprise a graduated plunger connected to the platform by links (24) Fig.3 (not shown) or a dial gauge operated electrically or mechanically by movements of the platform relative to the base. The platform may be provided with a vessel tilting mechanism and the load indicating device may be adjustable for tareing purposes.
