Abstract
119,656. British Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co., (Assignees of Ehrhart, R. N.). Oct. 4, 1917, [Convention date]. Aspirating apparatus, ejector.-Two-stage ejectors of the kind described in Specification 7678/14 are modified by the interposition of a surface condenser between the two stages, the whole apparatus being arranged substantially with respect to a central axial straight line. In the first stage, a group of outwardlyflaring nozzles 9 draws gas or vapour from a pipe 8, and in the second stage the mixture is subjected to the ejecting action of steam admitted by a ring of outwardly-flaring nozzles 15. The surface-condenser is shown at 13. The second stage withdraws both the condensed and uncondensed matter from the surface-condenser chamber.
