Abstract

India-rubber, calendering.-India-rubber calendering-machines are provided with non-driven pressing devices having convex surfaces adapted to act on the product while passing from one pair of rolls to the next. In the machine illustrated in Fig. 1, two pairs of calendering-rolls, 10, 11; 12, 13 are shown, and pressure rollers 15, 23 are provided adapted to act on the rubber before entering the pairs of rolls 11, 12; 12, 13 respectively. The rollers 15 are carried by plates 16 adjustably mounted in guides 17 of plates 18 capable of sliding on bars 21. The second set of rollers 23 are carried by plates 26 adjustably mounted in brackets 28 carried by squared rods 27 which are supported at their centres by bars 30 through bolts 31.
