Abstract

1,194,724. Heat insulating panels; imitation leaded lights. K. CRAWFORD. 8 Oct., 1968 '[5 Oct., "1967], No. 45421/67. Headings E1J and B1R. A light transmitting heat insulating 'panel comprises at least one sheet 5 of glass, plastics or other light transmitting material having secured to. a surface thereof foamed or expanded polystyrene 1 provided' with through going openings' 2a, b, c, d so shaped as to transmit rays of sun'light only toy deflection from the surfaces of the openings. The insulation I may 'be sandwich 'between two sheets 5, and one of the openings may be a curved ventilation opening. The,panel may be so shaped as to present internal and external ridges or corrugations (Fig. 3 not shown), and .the openings may contain a solid transparent or translucent or coloured insert, e.g. filled with coloured plastics in liquid form which solidifies in situ and the panel so formed may be,used as imitation leaded lights or as roofing 'panels, or ceilings.
