A toy service station for incorporation into a slot-racer circuit, has, converging into two junctions 28, 30, two parallel grooves 16b, 16c each having vehicle control members such that a model vehicle 20 having entered groove 16c in direction B is held by means of a stop 22 on the vehicle by a vehicle holding element VHE until a second vehicle 18 passing into groove 16b in direction A releases a vehicle switching element VSE which releases the vehicle holding element VHE allowing the vehicle 20 to move off, vehicle 18 being held in its turn. The two sets of switchgear may be operated by means of a lever 52d either separately or together. The vehicles are Ibattery operated.
