Abstract

1,194,034. Tables for sewing machines. WILLCOX & GIBBS Inc. 8 Aug., 1967 [9 Aug., 1966], No. 36328/67. Heading A4H. [Also in Divisions B4 and D1] A stand supports a sewing machine while permitting adjustment of the sewing machine relative to a table top without disturbing the spacing between the sewing machine and its driving motor. A table top 11 having an opening 12 is secured at its ends to bars (16), 17, each of which is supported by a rear leg 14 and a front leg 15. Legs 14 are interconnected by a rear bar 20 of square cross-section, the flattened ends 20a of which are adjustably secured to legs 14 by bolts 21 passing through vertical slots in legs 14. A bracket 25 is secured non-rotatably to bar 20 by a cooperating bracket 27. A motor 28 is suspended from bracket 25 by a pivot 31 and an adjustable pivot link 32. A plate 35, adjustably secured to the upper surface 25a of bracket 25, extends forwardly under opening 12, and is supported by a front bar 40, which interconnects to the legs 15 and is adjustably secured thereto by bolts 42. Plate 35 supports a sewing machine 13 which projects through opening 12 and is driven from motor 28 by a belt 46.
