Abstract

In a device for mounting disc-like plastics spacers on reinforcing bars, spacers 2 are arranged in a magazine 1 and are released by a plunger 16 which pushes the lowest spacer past a spring 3 so that it falls down a tapered passage 5, 5a with its main plane vertical. When it reaches the bottom of the passage it is pushed past a spring-advanced knife blade 24 by a lever 20 and is slit to its central hole and then after withdrawal of the knife is pushed on to a reinforcing rod 18 held in position by members 36.
