Abstract

1,191,598. Aerials. P. L. DROGO. 13 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 38638/68. Heading H4A. A telescopic aerial for a shipwreck buoy 15 comprises a hollow base member 7 and a number of telescopically slidable sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The outer section 4 is fixed to the outside of the member 7, and the inner section 1 is received inside the said member and rests on a cartridge 10 containing a powder charge 11. Upon explosion of the said charge by, for example, an electrical heating coil 12, the movable aerial sections 3, 2, 1 of progressively smaller diameters slide respectively within the sections 4, 3, 2 and lock therewith when fully extended.
