Abstract

1,191,258. Erasing magnetic recordings. AMPEX CORP. 1 April, 1969 [18 April, 1968], No. 17053/69. Heading G5R. A recorded track on a rotating magnetic disc is erased by means of a magnetic transducer energized by a signal composed of pulses of alternative senses and of amplitudes which decrease from pulse to pulse, the period of each pulse being equal to the time taken by the disc to rotate an integral number of times, preferably once.
