1,191,101. Grafted poly-(N-vinyl pyrrolidone). GEVAERT-AGFA N.V. 18 April, 1967 [12 May, 1966], No. 21203/66. Heading C3G. [Also in Divisions G2 and H1] Graft copolymer latices are obtained by emulsion copolymerizing 80 to 99À5% of an alkyl acrylate, in which the alkyl group contains 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and 0À5-20% acrylonitrile in the presence of 5-15% of poly-(N- vinyl pyrrolidone) and 0.5 to 2% of an anionic emulsifier, e.g. sodium laurate, the percentages by weight PVP and emulsifier being based on the total weight of monomers. The latices are incorporated in pigment suspensions.
