Abstract

118,950. Crosthwaite, W. H. Nov. 27, 1917. Man-hole doors.-In a man-hole door of the kind comprising two parts 1, 2 having projections and depressions engaging so as to prevent relative lateral displacement of the parts, a groove 14 for holding packing is formed in the flange of one of the parts. The packing is preferably circular with a diameter half that of the groove, so that, when the parts of the door are pressed together by bolts 7, the packing is compressed and completely fills the groove.
